DUBAI – The much-anticipated Asia Cup 2025 showdown between India and Pakistan will take place at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium tomorrow (Sunday).
Ahead of the high-profile fixture, Dubai Police and the Events Security Committee (ESC) have urged spectators to respect safety rules, maintain discipline, and uphold sportsmanship, reflecting the UAE’s reputation for hosting world-class events.
Major General Saif Muhair Al Mazrouei, Assistant Commander-in-Chief for Operations at Dubai Police and Chairman of the ESC, confirmed that specialised units will be deployed throughout the tournament. He underlined that police forces are fully prepared to secure matches and deal firmly with violations.
Penalties
Authorities reminded fans that strict legal penalties apply under the Federal Law on the Security of Sports Facilities and Events. Entering the pitch without authorisation or carrying fireworks and other banned items could lead to imprisonment of one to three months and fines ranging from Dh5,000 to Dh30,000.

Acts of violence, throwing objects, or the use of racist or abusive language may result in imprisonment and fines between Dh10,000 and Dh30,000. Dubai Police warned that breaches would be dealt with decisively to ensure the safety of players, officials, and fans.
How should fans prepare?
The ESC advised ticket holders to arrive at least three hours before the 6.30pm start, as stadium gates will open early to ease entry. Re-entry will not be permitted once inside, and each ticket will allow entry only once. Fans must also ensure their tickets are valid to avoid delays.
Parking regulations will be strictly enforced, with officials cautioning against random parking or blocking access routes. Designated parking areas will be available for spectators to use.
Banned items
Dubai Police released a comprehensive list of prohibited items. These include fireworks, flammable substances, laser pointers, umbrellas, sharp objects, toxic substances, pets, remote-controlled devices, bicycles, scooters, skateboards, and glass objects. Selfie sticks, monopods, large cameras, flags, banners, outside food or drinks, smoking materials, and power banks are also not allowed.
Officials emphasised that these restrictions are designed to protect everyone attending, ensuring the match is enjoyed in a safe and secure environment.
The Asia Cup 2025 features eight teams across two groups, with matches being staged in both Abu Dhabi and Dubai until 28 September. Dubai will host 11 matches, including the final, with the India–Pakistan encounter among the most eagerly awaited fixtures.
